Gokhan Inler snubs the Gunners
Arsène Wenger was snubbed by Gokhan Inler midfield target.
According to the Telegraph, Arsenal had hoped to agree a £ 8 million fee for the 24 years old Swiss international, but the player himself has put an end to speculation that claims to want to remain in Serie A.
The player's agent, Dino Lambrini, reportedly said, "We have decided that Inler Udinese remains in".
"Every player wants to play for Arsenal of course, but for Inler this may be perhaps a little 'in advance. Maybe a season too early."
Wenger is now able to concentrate its energies on Liverpool's Xabi Alonso, but with Gareth Barry's proposed move to Anfield apparently dead, to ensure Spanish may prove too difficult.
Following the departure of Mathieu Flamini, Gilberto Silva and Alexander Hleb, Wenger priority this summer was to recruit a central midfielder.
This was the lack of availability for the French Last Saturday he was forced to play Emmanuel Eboue in central midfield against Fulham, a match Arsenal lost 1-0.
