Liverpool rocked by Skrtel injury
Martin Skrtel May facing a long clear after suffering cruciate ligament damage in his right knee Sunday's 3-2 victory over Manchester City.
The 23-year defense of the necessary oxygen and left the field on a stretcher after falling awkwardly on the end to Eastland.
"It will see a specialist Tuesday to assess the extent of the damage," said spokesman Ian Cotton Club.
"We will have a clear idea of the cause before the deadline, he was back playing again."
Skrtel, who was signed from Zenit St. Petersburg in January, has forged a strong partnership with Jamie Carragher at the heart of the Liverpool defense.
The Slovak Daniel Agger has kept away from the coast but his injury May open the door for Danish return.
Liverpool have granted only four goals in seven Premier League matches this season and sit second in the table behind Chelsea on goal difference.
Rafael Benitez's side have also made a fine start to their campaign of Champions League with victories each of their opening two Group D matches.
