Rooney to escape FA investigation
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will not be charged by the Football Association to embrace his club badge in the 1.1 to draw Everton.
The 23-year-old England star made his gesture, which could be considered inflammatory, having been replaced in his former club.
However, the FA have confirmed they will not be taking action.
Rooney was withdrawn after a foul on Mikel Arteta, having already been booked by referee Alan Wiley.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted later, the substitution was Rooney for his own good.
But he also accused of failing Wiley to protect his players.
