Blackburn agree Fowler contract

Blackburn have agreed to sign Robbie Fowler over a period of three months pay-as-you-play deal with the attacker in line to face Arsenal at Ewood Park this weekend.

The former leader of Liverpool, 33, has been training with Rovers since Paul Ince took over as manager in June.

And Blackburn chairman John Williams has revealed an agreement has been agreed, before adding: "We hope that this will be done this week.

"If we move forward on this basis and get registered, if the manager wants him, he would be able to cope with Arsenal."

Fowler, now a free agent after his departure from Cardiff during the summer, is the fourth highest Goalscorer in Premier League history have had two spells at Liverpool and playing for Leeds and Manchester City.

Fowler has also offered a pay-as-you-play contract with Cardiff for this season, but turned down after receiving the good fortune of having a trial at Blackburn.

Epuis last month said he hoped an agreement could be done with the former England international.

"I always said he needs to get his fitness and sharpness and now we are seeing signs of that," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"It is a world-class striker. If he can get himself right he will always score goals at all levels. "
