Chelsea launch £16m Mikel claim
Chelsea issued a High Court application for £ 16m against FC Lyn Oslo and its former chief executive Morgan Andersen on the transfer of Jon Obi Mikel.

Fa Barclaycard Premiership club want to Mikel transfer fees refunded after Andersen conviction in Norway.

Chelsea say the operation was based on false statements that Mikel has an employment contract with Lyn.

In June 2006 they paid £ 4m Lyn and £ 12 in Manchester United, who had an agreement to sign Mikel in April 2005.

"At the time of transfer, Chelsea, Manchester United and Lyn agreed that fees would be paid in final settlement of the transfer, all claims associated with it and no further action or comment on the transfer will be done," said Chelsea in 'condition.

"Chelsea Lyn wrote to clarify whether the transfer was based on a misrepresentation, now proven by a court of law, previously agreed settlement is not binding.
