Injured Saha set for quick return
Everton hope Louis Saha Hamstring of injury is not as bad as first fear after the French striker had to come off in the 1-0 win over Tottenham.

"Louis Saha has had a muscle spasm in his Hamstring," Everton physio Mick Rathbone told the club website.

"It does not seem too serious. We will assess in the coming days."

Meanwhile striker Yakubu, who will miss the rest of the season after breaking his Achilles tendon during Sunday's win, will be the Tuesday surgery.

Yakubu fell awkwardly in a challenge with Ledley King after 10 minutes, but at first looked as if it would be good to continue.

However, it was quickly replaced and, after being examined by medical personnel in the locker room, manager David Moyes worst fears were confirmed.

With James Vaughan until the new year early after his knee injury in training, Moyes is left with Victor Anichebe his only good striker.

"We had no chance of injury wise," said Moyes. "But I hope that the group will work hard to meet this challenge, particularly Anichebe who, while only young, you have the real quality."

When asked if the injuries that prompted Scot to seek reinforcements in the January transfer window, he added: "It is well documented that we do not have large amounts of cash here and to launch in January certainly was not our ideal plan.

"But the president has always supported me and clearly, we can not go through the rest of the season only if we have a good attacker.

"We'll see where we are and what we can do when it comes to the new year."
