FA charges Hull City boss Brown

The Football Association have instructed the town of Hull manager Phil Brown with improper conduct.

The accusation focuses on the sidelines Brown behaviour during the Tigers' 5-0 home defeat by Wigan Athletic at the KC Stadium, August 30.

Brown, 49, has until September 17 to answer the charge.

The Premier League newcomers have had a mixed start of the season, winning their first match and drawing the second before losing the Latics.

Brown allegedly kicked a water bottle in frustration over the house and the loss trudge up stands before the referee has the chance to punish.

At the beginning of the season the FA has launched an initiative to reduce dissent towards officials in English football called "respect" programme, which includes the behaviour of managers.

Brown is the first manager to be charged by the FA this season.

Hull declined to comment when asked if Brown would appeal against the charge.
