McDermott leaves Newcastle after Keegan quits

Deputy Director of Newcastle coach Terry McDermott and the team reserve Adam Sadler both left the club Premier League after the departure last week of manager Kevin Keegan.

McDermott, a former Newcastle player, was made the first team since last week when the large gap between Keegan and the board which led to the resignation of boss began to come out into the open.

Keegan and McDermott have an association goes back more than 30 years when the two men were involved in the successful Liverpool teams of the mid 1970.

Former England midfielder McDermott was a coach at Newcastle since 1992, when Keegan is now manager of the north-east.

McDermott served several St James' Park managers, including his former Liverpool team-mates Kenny Dalglish and Graeme Souness and Glenn Roeder and Sam Allardyce.
