Pavlyuchenko out for three weeks
Tottenham have been rocked by the news that Striker Roman Pavlyuchenko will be three weeks after suffering the partially torn ankle ligament injury.

The 26-year-old was forced during Spurs' defeat by Hull at the weekend and faces a race to be fit for the derby clash with Arsenal on October 29.

The news comes as another blow to the Londoners, who suffer their worst season start in league since 1912.

"Roman will be an additional treatment on the injury," read a club statement.

The loss of Darren Bent and Pavlyuchenko leaves Tottenham loanee Fraizer Campbell as the only team the first Strikers.

And even if the former leader Spartak Moscow has yet to score Spurs in the league, his absence is sure to be felt by some who found the net four times in their opening seven games, the worst scoring record in the top flight.

The injury will also keep Pavlyuchenko of Russia in the World Cup against Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein this week.

Meanwhile, the club revealed winger Aaron Lennon was forced to withdraw from the England under-21 squad Wales to face in the European Championship play-off on Friday because of a knee problem.

Scotland right-back Alan Hutton continues his rehabilitation after suffering a foot injury in pre-season.
