Ronaldo scoops best player award
Cristiano Ronaldo won the prestigious Ballon d'Or trophy awarded by the magazine France Football.


Ronaldo scored 42 goals as Manchester United won the Champions League and Fa Barclaycard Premiership last season.

"He is one of the most beautiful day of my life I dreamed of something like a child," said 23-year-old winger.

Lionel Messi Barcelona, finished second and Liverpool Fernando Torres, finished third while Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard were also in the race.

"This (trophy) is one that I want to win again because it is so good.

"Therefore, I will wake up and I say to myself 'I want to be even better."

The Portuguese international has become only the fifth player to score over 30 goals in a Premier League season as Chelsea Pippo United nationally.
